Hurray for things being sexual! ;)
I bought Darksiders and Bayonetta last week, still waiting for both to arrive, but looking at this thread, I'll start with Darksiders.
Well, about 3 weeks after both games arrived, I'm probably finally going to start playing Bayonetta tonight... still very happy I started with Darksiders :)

I think you made the right move there. I would've enjoyed DS a lot more if I'd have played it before Bayo. Bayo is a much better game IMO and it was kind of hard for DS to live up to it. I had a hard time getting into DS and I just wanted it to end when I played it.

Bayonetta is challenging, yes. But only if you want it to be. You can start on easy and finish the harder stuff with nice equipment. But starting the whole thing on normal or hard won't make you get easily through it.

Don't think I've played anything else the creator has made except for the first DMC (if it's the same guy - I'm too lazy to look). I had an easier time on my second playthrough on Hard than I did on my first playthrough on Normal. I could've breezed through both probably, but I kept replaying levels to try to top my last score hehe. I think I have like 6 achievements left for Bayo but I'm waiting until have a nice amount of time to invest into it. Love the game!

Yeah he made the DMC games too. Im aiming to 100% DMC 4 and am on the right track. I think the cheesemints are 50 times easier in Bayonetta. SO happy i dont have to worry about my scores on CLimax mode though. or else id be screwed lol. I run past half the fights.

yes this game is sure perfection. if yr a button masher and just want to win its for you. if you are more tec about your gaming (like me) then you would take pride in fighting with stlye. best part is, is if even on harder levels oyu feel thats its too easy equip the gazzed of despair and have fun. love it love it love it.. non stop climax is crazy. all and all dantes sister (lol) is just as good as her alter ego. they should kick nero to the crub. (hey i love nero.) and make a bayonetta dmc game . it would be...how does the miz say it?..... oh yeah... AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thatts right

That is on the easiest difficulty I think. You still have to use two hands to walk around but once you are in combat I think it is one handed.

after playing bayonetta i pray 12 ave marias every day to get bayonetta 2 ASAP. and i like no other game of that style. darksiders and dante's inferno aren't too bad... but nothing can compare to bayonettas combo system.
and the achievements are very well thought. even if you are not pro enough to get pure platinum on everything, you'll manage to get the 1000G sooner or later.and even after getting the 1000G there is still stuff to do, like getting more weapons, unlocking secret playable chars and a special boss, getting pure platinum on everything for leaderboards, etc.

Agreed...only took me 5 hours to finish up hard mode (after completing normal mode first). Started Climax mode right after and got to mission 10 in 3 hours or so. I'm not here to brag but I found DMC 4 MUCH harder to complete (still have to actually) and after only 30 hours I'm very close to 1000 GS (3 more hours and I'm done I reckon).
I feel like dynamite!

Well you also have to look at the types of achievements you are getting.
If Bayonetta had an achievement for getting Pure Platinum on every chapter *possibly on climax*..Well, Im going to lean to it being harder than DMC4 *the equivalent would be a SSS rank*.
As for difficulty I can't comment too much, but DMC4 was pretty easy.

Hooray for reviving an old thread.
As someone who isn't very experienced with this genre, I found the game quite challenging...
If you're having trouble with the story missions, the "cheat codes" (more like early unlocks of powerful gear) helped me along quite a bit, but they don't really do much for you in the boss fights, so you still need some level of skill and understanding of the game's mechanics.
Hopefully anyone who picks up this game in 2018 and beyond and finds it much harder than the solutions and comments make it out to be, you're not alone. I still highly recommend sticking with it, though. Fun game, and it was quite rewarding as someone not great at these types of games.

I remember it being challenging when I originally played it, so much so that I had to knock it down to easy mode in order to get through the last bits and the final boss. I love Bayonetta to death, but those memories are putting me off playing 1&2 on the Switch <_<
